Do Not Let Your Guard Down
Most of us will heartily agree that life has its ups and downs. Whether it be finances, health, or the loss of a loved one, there are at least a dozen other problems we all must face as we carry our crosses to the finish line. Some of us may believe that it is our problem, and we must handle our burdens independently. In some instances, we may feel that we should not go to God for everything that goes wrong in our lives, as God has so much to handle. Some recognize how Jesus carried His cross, though He fell three times.
Jesus, however, did accept help with the cross and allowed a soldier to help him to his feet. We, too, should always be reminded how Jesus suffered and died for our sins, and He would never turn away whenever we go to Him for support. In fact, Jesus wants us to love and depend on Him for guidance and support. Without His guidance, many are lost and do not find their way.
When we follow His Ten Commandments, and meet Jesus in prayer and especially, in the Eucharist, Jesus promises us. “I AM in you as you are in Me,” Jesus told the Apostles in the upper room after His Crucifixion and resurrection into heaven, “I must go now to My Father in Heaven, but I do not leave you alone. The Holy Spirit will be with you.” Not a tiny sparrow falls from a tree that God is not aware of. God wants us to trust in Him, and to go to Him when we are hurting. God desires that we always know that we are not alone, and we can go to Him in our time of need.
