A peasant girl named Joan

     St Joan of Arc was born in France around 1412. She died on this day of May 30th in 1431. Making her only 19 years old when she met her gruesome death by being burned at the stake. Acting under Divine guidance, this magnificent young woman, led the French army in 1429 to a momentous victory at "Orleans", during the Hundred Year's War. Her bravery and acclaim to God and the Heavenly court, along with her faithfulness to the King of France, helped her conquer battles of Injustice and proved her to be a great national heroine of her compatriots. Her mentors were St Michael the Archangel, St Catherine of Alexandria, and St Margaret of Antioch. They helped strengthen her already courageous nature, which was quite remarkable for a woman in her day. Her mission was created and greeted with much opposition because of her being a woman. Then to complicate  matters, her pledge that these heavenly beings regarding her fervor in battle, with no other proof than her word, made it a long and tough road. Having to abandon their homes in the village where she lived, lit a fire inside of Joan that God could see. She was to be used by God for her faithfulness and humility as she cut off her hair and dressed herself in men's clothes. That to which she would become like a warrior. The amount of pain inflicted on such a young youth, showed great courage in the resignation and trust of God. 

     There is great marvels in the story of the life of St Joan of Arc. Try to take time today to be inspired by a soul that was created to be a warrior for the things she believed in, in the name of Jesus Christ. All backed by the great God of Heaven and Earth and His mighty legions of Angels and Saints.
