Day 9 - completion of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Novena
Today we celebrate the Most Holy Trinity. In other words, the very first Holy Family. We were all created just for this, because family is everlasting. The placement of our lives in each family is not a mistake. God is thought of every detail of our lives and that includes where we end up in the Family Circle. He is perfect in all of His ways. There is a purpose. There's a reason. We do not get to pick who raises us or our siblings. Therefore, we must trust that wherever we land, whichever family we inherit, it's the right one. After all, our ancestry all stems back to the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Trinity and Family are one.
It first starts from the Heavenly Family of God, where there are no mistakes when it comes to God creating anything. His image and likeness is seen in millions of different looking human beings and that in itself is amazing and awesome. Taking that first great miracle to Heart, we come to the placement of each child of God. Some have plush cushy lives, while others are born into struggle and hardship. We may never know the answer to the circumstances, but we do know that God has a reason.
The Holy Family of Saint Joseph and our beloved Blessed Mother, had a rocky start. Their resignation to the Will of God and trusting in His promises, led them to be the greatest family of them all after the Holy Trinity. The greatest example of what a true family should be. Showing us that Unity, no matter how small the household, no matter how many the struggles, it is vital to be United for the completion of Happiness. Joseph and Mary were poor, but not in Spirit. They struggled, but not with defeat. They were judged but we're not devastated. In their humanity, they showed us all emotions, life, death, joy, sorrow, surrender to freedom. All because of trust in a God that had proven Himself over and over and over again. Thus making their family, the first Holy Family.
Trust in unity. To me, that's what a true family is made of. Trusting first in God and then relaying that trust amongst the ones God has put beside you. Therefore, strengthening the unity and trust. Obviously, not all families will have it easy. The trials and tests are for a purpose, unknowing at the time, but all the more to be searched out. With the beginning to learn, trust to follow, and then unity and love, in the surrender.
The evil one is trying his best to destroy the family. His quest to destroy the Most Holy Trinity is a lost cause. So then he comes to the next best thing. The Holy Family. But if Jesus and Mary and St Joseph taught us anything, it would be that it is possible to overcome temptation when in doubt, to love even when the truth is not upheld, and determination to the power of Unity. The greatest example of a true family. Because if a family strives to overcome temptation, replace anger with love, and surrender to the Will of God, their family also becomes Holy.
Today, we also celebrate the "Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Elizabeth". Another extension of family. It is also one more prime picture of how the completion of the family continues on and on, with siblings, Aunts and Uncles, Grandmas and Grandpas. It is evident that we are all related, all because of our ancestry and that includes the most Holy Family.
Sometimes, we might wish we were in a different family than the one that you have now. You know the old saying "the grass looks greener on the other side". But what if someone walks to the other side and they come upon it and it's all wilted and trampled on?. Stay satisfied with what you've got. Don't go seeking that which is not been made available to you. If you find yourself alone or perhaps just with a husband or wife, you needn't feel incomplete. All children are your children. All brothers are your brothers, all sisters are your sisters and you will see many mothers and fathers in your life if you look hard enough. Trust in God, who placed you right where you are for a reason. Trust the head of the family.
