Are we living in a shadow of evil?
In the event that we may forget God is always ready to respond to our Needs!
My reason for even bringing this concern to be looked at is; too many people get dismayed when their prayers are not answered quickly or even at all. For all who believe in the spiritual connection with Christ understands that it is our faith that tells us God will answer every prayer when it is time. It is the people who only call out for help without realizing that God takes care of his creatures when it is right for them and the moment of the answer will be what is best for them.
In the first place, we ought to be astonished by this fact when we complain of not being heard: when we praise God or give him thanks in general, we are not particularly concerned whether or not our prayer is acceptable to him. On the other hand, we demand to see the results of our petitions. What is the image of God that motivates our prayer: an instrument to be used? Or the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ? (CCC 2735).
You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.” If we ask with a divided heart, we are “adulterers”; God cannot answer us, for he desires our well-being, our life.” Or do you suppose that it is in vain that the scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit which he has made to dwell in us?” “That our God is “jealous” for us is the sign of how true his love is. If we enter into the desire of his Spirit, we shall be heard. (CCC 2737).
It is always possible to pray: The time of the Christian is that of the risen Christ who is with us always, no matter what tempests may arise. Our time is in the hands of God: (CCC 2743).
It is possible to offer fervent prayer even while walking in public or strolling alone, or seated in your shop…while buying or selling,...or even while cooking. (St. John Chrysotom).
How often has each of us had friends or relatives ask us; please pray for me or my family, knowing that we just might have an in with God since our faith is beyond that of the common person. “Do you expect me to pray for you?” Yes, they will answer, and how often the prayers are heard and because of our faith God responds.
Prayer of intercession consists in asking on behalf of another. It knows no boundaries and errands to one’s enemies. (CCC 2647).
One aspect of praying for others; remember those whom we have anger towards: Now - and this daunting - this outpouring of mercy cannot penetrate our hearts as long as we have not forgiven those who have trespassed against us. Love, like the Body of Christ, is indivisible; we cannot love the God we cannot see if we do not love the brother or sister we do see. In refusing to forgive our brothers and sisters, our hearts are closed and their hardness makes them impervious to the Father’s merciful love; but in confessing our sins, our hearts are opened to his grace. (CCC 2840).
