Is Jesus Leading Us, Yet We Are Not Hearing Him?

We cry out to the Lord, we pray for His help and guidance in our time of confusion and problems, and somehow, we believe it is He who is not answering when it is we who do not hear His word. There are a few reasons why we may not be hearing God’s reply to our plea. We must be consistent in our prayers; God answers in His time, not ours. God may resolve our issue; however, it may be resolved in a way that God sees best.

Sometimes, God opens a door with an answer by sending us a messenger who speaks on the topic that has been giving us trouble. Are we spending enough time alone with Jesus, quietly in meditation, listening and not speaking? Perhaps the issue may resolve itself in time, and all we need to do is be patient. 

God never leaves those who love Him and follow His word; too often it is we who leave Jesus. We may be lacking in our ability to trust in God, in our faith, or patience, and we might pray to God for more trust, more faith in Him. We cannot place time limits on God to meet our expectations. But we can pray for tolerance, strength, and patience while we continue to ask for god’s intervention.

Sometimes, because we are all human and imperfect, we have difficulty understanding God’s way. His way is not usually our way. Trusting in Him, following Him, and continuing our prayer often brings us the graces of wisdom and understanding, tolerance, and increased faith to handle whatever God sends our way.
