Day 3 - Novena to the Sacred Heart

    Today is first Friday. How blessed we are to celebrate and honor our dedication to Jesus and consecrate ourselves and our families to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on this day. With all promise of amending our lives and fully celebrating His tender love, we strive each day, in hope, that are sinfulness will be forgiven and that we may share in the fruits of Jesus's Redemption. 

     Hope. What a beautiful concept. A wonderful aspect of our Faith. Nothing is impossible with God in the prayer of Hope. It rings out as we faithfully entrust all things to Him. 

     St Boniface had all Hope and trust in our Lord as he chopped down the mighty tree the pagans worshiped. He knew this act would probably get him killed, but he knew who was and is the real God. His Hope in this mighty act brought many conversions among these pagans who referred this mighty oak tree under the name of "Thor's oak". When the tree was toppled, not harming Saint Boniface, the pagans saw that their god was weak and were astounded by Thor's lack of power. Instant conversion took place and the heathens stopped cursing and began to praise the Christian God. They built a Chapel with the wood from the fallen tree, dedicating it to Saint Peter, to symbolize the victory of Christianity over paganism. Boniface pointed to a small evergreen fir tree, growing right behind the mighty fallen oak and used it as a tool for evangelization. He used this triangular shape to teach the concept of the Holy Trinity and it's "ever-green" leaves to symbolize eternal life, which many credit, thus, the origin of the "Christmas tree tradition". 

     Our Faith, as Catholics, as Christians, in the powerful army of God is a gift given by the true Creator of all. The One and Only God. Keep up this powerful Novena as we honor the Second person of the Trinity. Our Jesus.
