Did Jesus Live His Life to Teach Us By Example, Especially After Death?

When we reflect on how Jesus lived, and worked alongside His earthly father as a Carpenter was both obedient and humble. He taught us about the benefits of Herbs and nutrition, such as mentioning how the leaves, fruits, and herbs of the earth were healing, and by fishing for protein. He taught us not to eat of the hooved animals. Jesus instituted the sacrament of marriage at the Feast of Cana. He healed the blind and brought his friend back to life from the land of the dead. He died for our sins because He loved us and wanted to save us. Jesus endured the worst kind of suffering we will ever know. He was beaten with a whip til his flesh was torn from his body. Crowned with thorns that pierced His head, He carried a huge, heavy Cross of unbearable weight and fell three times. Each time He returned to His feet and continued on His journey. There was even a time of anxiety before all of this occurred, when Jesus cried out to His Father, saying, “Father, if this cup can be taken away, let it be, but if this be Your will, let it be done.”

The Soldiers cast lots for His robe and mocked Jesus on the Cross. Jesus died on Good Friday, and in three days, He was resurrected. He appeared to the Apostles in the Upper Chamber. The Apostles were fearful because Jesus said it would be the last time they would see Him. Jesus promised He would not leave them alone; the Holy Spirit would be with them. And Jesus promised that “There are many rooms in my Father’s House, and I go to prepare a place for you. Then, I will return to take you to be with Me.”

WHAT CAN WE SEE BY GOD’S EXAMPLE DURING HIS LIFE THAT ALSO APPLIES TO US?

We are born, as God allowed His only Son, Jesus, to be born.

We must work for a living

We are told to honor our father and our mother

Procreation should be the main reason for marriage

We may be humiliated and laughed at for our faith

We will have joy, and also our own Crosses to bear throughout life

We must remain obedient to God’s Ten Commandments

We must all suffer and die

We may be judged by God within three days following our death

We may be provided with purification before entering into Heaven for eternity with God

Those who did not love, obey, or believe in God may be facing isolation for eternity 

Thus, can we not see how Jesus showed us the way of life? Do we not all suffer sickness and death, and hope and pray to live eternity in Heaven with Christ? We were born with the sins of our parents, Adam and Eve, but we were baptized as Jesus showed us it must be done to remove original sin. We are then confronted by the fallen angel, Satan, with his empty promises. Life is not the Garden of Eden, but there are challenges, and as Jesus remained faithful to His Father for our sake, we must remain faithful to His Ten Commandments and to Him.
