Immerse ourselves in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary

My first sighting of the Two Hearts was in the Catholic school where I took religious education.  Both pictures seemed to call to me even though I was just learning about my faith.  Today, since 1960, I have a large picture of the Sacred Heart above my desk and never have neglected the honor he has given me.  

When I was working in new homes as an electrician and would be in the basements of people who had a lot of furniture and other items that were designated as scrap, I came across pictures of the Sacred Heart and Immaculate heart as well.  My feelings that they, like many other families moving into the suburbs no longer felt the need to keep these one time reminders of who and where they came from while being needy at one time now were joining the apostate crowd and relying upon their own reliance for a new life; without God in the center.

I mentioned in an article how a cousin of my mother was a member of the Visitation Nuns in Wheeling, and she gave to me a handful of Sacred Heart Badges.  I always kept and still have one with me at all times.  When a co-worker was called to Vietnam he also carried one of the badges with him.  In fox-holes he remembers some of his comrades were killed or terribly injured while he never received a scratch.  He believed that this badge kept him safe.  

The promises of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque has also filtered down to my devotions and for over 66 years have become my mantra and my devotions that still are solid within my ministry of praying for all whom the Spirit has sent to me; either in person or mostly in needs that I have sought through my own faith.  There is no doubt that all he is and all he will be for all of us begins with a heart that bleeds constantly for the hearts of his children to also bleed with compassion and forgiveness for so many that have lost their way

If you have a picture or statue of the Sacred Heart, keep it in view of your eyes.  The constant image of what his Heart means for us is essential to understanding a compassion that leads us all to his Passion that bled the belief of his Holy Eucharist.
