We May Never Meet Jesus In Our lifetime; However, We Can Become A Companion To The Holy Spirit.

We all realize that Jesus no longer walks the earth, yet He does watch over us as He is omnipotent. When in despair, one may feel as though God has abandoned us. After His death and Resurrection, we know that He descended to the Apostles in the Upper Chamber, and there He wanted to reveal that He had risen, but must

Return to His Father in Heaven. He said, “There are many rooms in My Father’s Paradise, and I go before you to prepare a place for you, and I will come again to take you with Me forever.” The disciples still felt anguish about being left alone without Jesus, and were concerned that the soldiers would come and get them and murder them because of their loyalty to Jesus. Jesus, understanding their apprehension, said to them, “Though I must leave you, you will not be alone; for I will send the Holy Spirit to be with you.”

We have been taught that there are three persons in One God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Knowing that the Father and the Son are in Heaven (yet omnipotent – knowing and seeing all), we have been told that the Holy Spirit will be with us, and we can pray to and speak to Him. Our prayer should always end with this same refrain: “Holy Spirit, please lead me, guide me, protect and correct me.”

In this way, we acknowledge the Holy Spirit, surrender to His will, and we are able to surrender our will to His will, and ask that we be led, and when not following properly, that we be protected through His intercession and correction. When we sincerely pray this prayer of surrender (not merely mimicking a recital of words), we will have opened the door to a relationship with the Holy Spirit. He will become the angel on our shoulder, our conscience, if you will, to tell us when we are headed down the wrong path, that our priorities are not aligned with God’s will. We will then feel the peace of Christ as we mend our ways, obey the Holy Spirit, and fall more deeply in love with God, and shrug off our earthly cloak as we offer our souls to align with the teachings and requests of the Holy Spirit.

Although energizing and deepening our Spirit in the love of Christ, and focus on Him, may take a bit of time, He hears our plea, and notes our sincerity from Day-One.
