Infinite Love – Part 2

In part 1 of this article, I described the infinite love of Jesus. Now, let us turn our attention to Mary. She is another example of perfect love. She is the Mother of God. Although this love was not hers by nature, it was given to her by grace. The grace that had been given to her that began her existence was a gift from God. She did not earn the right to be immaculately conceived, but, was granted that grace by her own beloved Son. Jesus saw through the history and mystery of time and granted his mother that important grace that she would never experience sin in any form.

How did she express this infinite love? She cared for Jesus throughout his entire life. Mary is the mother of Jesus. Jesus is God.  She is also the created being by God. She is also the faithful handmaid of the Lord. She is both mother and servant of God.

She cared for Joseph her spouse throughout her entire life. Joseph was granted the grace of a happy death by being surrounded by Jesus and Mary who cared for him in the final moments of earthly life. Throughout the public of life of Jesus, Mary either stood by Him or in the background. She did not wish any form of praise for herself, but, always pointed to Jesus as the source of all that is good.

At the foot of the cross, Jesus acknowledged her service by making her the mother of all of us. After the Ascension of Jesus, it was Mary who kept together that small band of men who still had many doubts about their future roles in the Church. The motherhood of Mary extends even through today. Mary has appeared through many apparitions to warn her adopted children of the dangers that we face especially today with all the immorality and evil in the world. She stands as a beacon of hope to all who believe in her and accept her as their heavenly mother.

Mary was unique in that she had an earthly spouse named Joseph and a heavenly spouse named the Holy Spirit. It was the Holy Spirit who overshadowed Mary to bring about the birth of Jesus. It was the Holy Spirit who imparted his gifts to motivate the apostles to preach Jesus to all nations while they still lived in fear. Let us always remember that Mary is part of a vast team that consists of the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Joseph, herself, the angels, and all of the Saints. Let us always devote time and prayer to the entire team. We might call them the Fantastic Beings for they love us very much.
