The Holy Reflection Rosary: The Glorious Mysteries (Sun/Weds)

Introductory Prayers

Sign of the Cross: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Apostles’ Creed: I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

For the Virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity, we pray: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. (3 times)

Glory Be: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

First Glorious Mystery: The Resurrection — Virtue: Faith

We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this first decade in honor of Thy triumphant Resurrection and we ask of Thee, through this mystery and through the intercession of Thy Blessed Mother, a lively faith.

Reflection: Christ is risen, and death is conquered. Prayer: Risen Lord, strengthen our faith in your victory.

Our Father...

2.       “The angel announced Jesus had been raised.” — Luke 24:6

3.       “The women were asked why they sought the living one among the dead.” — Luke 24:5

Second Glorious Mystery: The Ascension — Virtue: Hope of Heaven

We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this second decade in honor of Thy glorious Ascension, and we ask of Thee, through this mystery and through the intercession of Thy Blessed Mother, a firm hope and a great longing for Heaven.

Reflection: Jesus returns to the Father and prepares a place for us. Prayer: Lord, lift our hearts toward heaven and keep us faithful on earth.

Our Father...

1.       “Jesus was lifted up before the apostles’ eyes.” — Acts 1:9

2.       “A cloud took Jesus from their sight.” — Acts 1:9

3.       “Jesus commanded the apostles to make disciples of all nations.” — Matthew 28:19

4.       “Jesus promised to be with his disciples always.” — Matthew 28:20

5.       “Jesus promised to the apostles you will receive power when the holy Spirit comes upon you” — Acts 1:8

6.       “Jesus told the apostles that they would be his witnesses.” — Acts 1:8

Third Glorious Mystery: The Descent of the Holy Spirit — Virtue: Wisdom

We offer Thee, O Holy Spirit, this third decade in honor of the mystery of Pentecost, and we ask of Thee, through this mystery and through the intercession of Mary, Thy most faithful Spouse, Thy holy wisdom so that we may know, really love and practice Thy truth, and invite all others share in it.

Reflection: The Spirit fills the Church with courage and truth. Prayer: Come, Holy Spirit, guide us into wisdom and holiness.

Our Father...

1.       “The disciples were all together in one place.” — Acts 2:1

2.       “A noise like a strong driving wind filled the house.” — Acts 2:2

3.       “Tongues as of fire appeared to them.” — Acts 2:3

4.       “The tongues came to rest on each one of them.” — Acts 2:3

5.       “They were all filled with the Holy Spirit.” — Acts 2:4

6.       “They began to speak in different tongues.” — Acts 2:4

7.       “Jesus promised the Spirit of truth.” — John 16:13

Fourth Glorious Mystery: The Assumption of Mary — Virtue: Devotion to Mary

We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this fourth decade in honor of the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of Thy holy and Blessed Mother, body and soul, into Heaven, and we ask of Thee, through these two mysteries and through her intercession, the gift of true devotion to her to help us live and die holy.

Reflection: Mary shares in her Son’s victory and points us toward our destiny in Christ. Prayer: Mary, lead us closer to Jesus and teach us faithful devotion.

Our Father...

1.       “The angel greeted Mary as the favored one.” — Luke 1:28

2.       “The angel said to Mary: Behold you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.” — Luke 1:28

3.       “Elizabeth declared: And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? .” — Luke 1:42

4.        And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.

5.        Mary declared “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior” — Luke 1:47

6.       “Mary proclaimed: all generations will call me blessed.” — Luke 1:48

7.       “Paul teaches that there is also a spiritual body.” — 1 Corinthians 15:44

8.       “Paul proclaims that death is swallowed up in victory.” — 1 Corinthians 15:54

9.       “The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God.” — Wisdom 3:1

10.     “The righteous will live forever.” — Wisdom 5:15

Grace of the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of Mary, come down into our souls and make us truly devoted to her.

Fifth Glorious Mystery: The Coronation of Mary — Virtue: Perseverance

We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this fifth and last decade in honor of the glorious crowning of Thy Blessed Mother in Heaven, and we ask of Thee, through this mystery and through Her intercession, the grace of perseverance and increase of virtue until the very moment of death and after that the eternal crown that is prepared for us. We ask the same grace for all the just and for all our benefactors.

Reflection: Mary is crowned Queen because she remained faithful to the end. Prayer: Queen of Heaven, help us persevere in grace until the end.

3.       “A crown of twelve stars was on her head.” — Revelation 12:1

We beseech Thee, dear Lord Jesus, by these  mysteries of Thy life, passion and death, by Thy glory and by the merits of Thy Blessed Mother, to convert sinners and help the dying, to deliver the Holy Souls from Purgatory and to give us all Thy grace so that we may live well and die well—and please give us the Light of Thy glory later on so that we may see Thee face to face and love Thee for all eternity. Amen. 

Concluding Prayer

Hail, Holy Queen: Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us Pray

O God, whose only begotten Son, by his life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech thee, that while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Michael: Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Memorare: Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
