A Birthday Blessing

On Saturday, July 4, our nation will celebrate a milestone. It will be 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It has been quite a road trip from 1776 to 2026. Our American Revolution followed by the second war for independence in 1812 was just the beginning. Before the War of 1812 came the Louisiana Purchase which greatly increased our land mass. After a bloody Civil War which was anything but civil, our nation expanded to Texas and to the entire Pacific Coast inspired by the California gold rush. We as a nation bought Alaska from Russia known as Seward's Folly. With all the natural gas and oil up there, I think that we made a very good deal. We also captured Hawaii. We fought two world wars freeing Europe and Japan from fascism and the Nazis. We fought the Cold War and won. We would have had stability in South East Asia, had the democrats in congress not pulled the funding from the region. All in all throughout our 250 years of existence we have fought to bring peace and stability to a chaotic world. At present, we are attempting to stop Iranian aggression in the middle east and throughout the world.
I was reminiscing about and old geography lesson on which I wrote an article on how the blessing that Jacob gave the sons of Joseph before Jacob's death. One son would become a group or a commonwealth of nations while the other would become a great nation. Today, the British and American people have fulfilled Jacob's prophecy. The British are a commonwealth of nations while America is the greatest nation in the history of the world. The only blessing that would be best for our nation is the biblical blessing from the book of numbers. For this purpose, I have changed one pronoun from you to us.
My the Lord bless us and keep us! May the Lord let his face shine us and be merciful to us! May the Lord look upon us kindly and give us peace. After all, we are the proof that Jacob's prophecy has been fulfilled.
