Dealing With the Pain of Disappointment in Family and Friends
Many of my faith articles mimic my own emotions or curiosities. This topic interests me at the top of my list of faith topics. This is so for several reasons as follows:
Earth and all who reside here are destined to become temporary for all of us!
If we love God and place our trust in Him, why do we fear death, which is eternal life?
Is it death itself we fear, or what follows death that frightens us?
Why do we not talk about it with other Catholics?
How do we overcome these fears?
Some answers to reflect upon:
We all realize that our lives must end, and we know not at what age; why do we not include preparing for, and accepting our fate?
Could it be that we do not have more trust in God than “Doubting Thomas?” Praying rosaries and asking for more trust, and praying for a peaceful death, is how I became stronger in my faith.
Fearing death itself has no logical reason. No one has ever woken up, or returned to Earth, saying, “Oh no, I died!” If we are fearing what awaits us when face to face with God in our Judgement, perhaps we are realizing that we may not be living fully as God desires of us, and should take the time we have left to pursue a healthier spiritual life?
In coming together as Catholics and sharing our fears, emotions, and how some have learned to conquer these fears, it brings us closer together, and how God desires us to live and share.
Overcoming fears or anything in life that is a challenge requires God’s guidance and protection.
We can be assured of God’s loving guidance, protection, and promise of heaven with Him for eternity by spending time with Him in prayer and sincere contemplation.
Trust is faith, and faith is believing. We must keep that in mind every day we wake up and breathe. Ask, and you shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
