May we Thank the Lord our God for all our Blessings?

The answer must be in our heart once the grace he pours out upon us has taken hold and forgiven the sins that challenge our faith.  How easy it is to say a prayer but somehow brush through it hoping he heard our supplication and acted on it.  

Belief in the complimentary compassion that God promised as soon as man sinned in spite of the blessings he handed us.  “Where are you?”  God asked Adam.  He answered, “I heard you in the garden; but I was afraid, because I was naked, so I hid myself.”  “Who told you that you were naked?  You have eaten, then from the tree which I had forbidden you to eat?”  (Gn 3: 9b - 11).

Any punishment God could have pronounced on Adam and his wife Eve for their disobedience the Lord, God, directed eternal punishment on Satan.  Man would need to suffer some repentance for his sin but the punishment would be directed to the devil who is always searching for human souls who are weak enough to forget the generosity of God.

Then the Lord God said to the serpent:  “Because you have done this, you shall be banned from all the animals and from all the wild creatures; On your belly shall you crawl, and dirt shall you eat all the days of your life.  I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will strike at your head, while you strike at his heel.”  (Gn 3: 14 - 15).

We can see that God was not going to forget the words that he said; “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.”  Then after he blessed man God looked at everything he had made, and he found it very good.  (Gn 1: 26, 31).

May we thank the Lord, God, even though we are too stubborn to realize his forgiving heart?  Yes, we are allowed to ask for his mercy since there is no other possible way for us to reach  eternal heaven by any other manner than who He is!

Thinking as well, can we pray for forgiveness?  The answer to that is an absolute yes since the mind allows us to reach into the unknown and withdraw blessings that are there for the taking.  But when we hesitate to use the ability we have it becomes a challenge of why didn’t we call upon God when he already was waiting for our cry for help?

Once the Lord hands our drooping spirits the needed assistance we ask for we must become thankful of his never-ending love that he is ready to bring to our mortal bodies.
