Rise up Jerusalem
The Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a powerful Sacramental. It is not a good luck charm, talisman or amulet. It is a Sacramental. A symbol of devotion and yoke of obedience to Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
It is said, that St. Simon Stock received the Brown Scapular after having written the beautiful, " Flos Carmel" prayer, (flower of Carmel). It is a beautiful prayer for the plea for protection and assistance.
"Oh beautiful flower of Carmel, most fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven, Holy and singular, who brought forth the Son of God, still every remaining a pure Virgin, assist me in this my necessity. Oh Star of the sea, help and protect me! Show me that Thou art my Mother."
Let us now pray day 3 of our Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Today let us pray for those less fortunate than us.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
God, I entreat you to watch over and care for those less fortunate than me. Especially keep in your care, those in Third world countries, who do not have enough food, water or shelter to survive. You saw the needs of God's people, Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Long before you were even the Mother of Christ, the Israelites attributed the ending of the drought as a result of Your intercession. Since the beginning of time, you've been the advocate of God's people. Our Lady of Mount Carmel, I ask you now to watch over those who still are poor and suffering today. Fold them in Thy sweet Mantle of your Love. Petition our Lord to save them from their distress. Inspire me and my Church to also consider ways we can help the under-served around the world, like your Son taught us. Please keep in mind my intentions that I lay before you now. (State your intentions here). Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us! In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
