Planned Parenthood Funding Reinstated; Is All Lost?

It felt like yesterday that Planned Parenthood would lose it funding. Since the Big Beautiful Bill was passed, the largest abortion giant had to shut down many of its facilities. Sadly, there was one problem. The cut was only good for one year, and Congress had an opportunity to keep the cuts going permanently. They failed.

“All is not lost,” Dr. Michael New said. “Congress could still pass legislation that would defund Planned Parenthood for the rest of the fiscal year.”

The lost funding for a year gave pro-lifers three positive things to take away.

“It was an important political victory,” New said. “For thirty years, defunding Planned Parenthood was a niche issue that appealed mainly to motivated pro-life activists. However, the increased influence pro-lifers have with the Republican Party made defunding Planned Parenthood a reality.”

“It was an important policy victory,” he said. “The Kaiser Family Foundation estimates that 57 Planned Parenthood facilities have closed since January 2025. Furthermore, since Planned Parenthood can no longer rely on the federal government as a source of revenue, most of these facilities will likely remain closed.”

“Finally, the temporary defunding will pave the way for future policy victories,” New said. “This is because it establishes a new standard for Republican elected officials. Overall, defunding abortion has been a winning strategy for pro-lifers in the past. It will continue to be a winning strategy for pro-lifers in the future.”

House Speaker Johnson plans to add Planned Parenthood funding cuts to a reconciliation bill following the Fourth of July recess.

Pro-lifers must be ready for what can be the biggest battle. Even the abortion giant plans to spend $2 million to retake Congress in November. Yet, they fail to understand that the tide had turned in favor of pro-lifers.

With less than 100 days until the midterm elections, pro-lifers must mobilize to defeat the abortion agenda in their communities, and those who are running for office must not be afraid to stand against Planned Parenthood.
