Our Lady of Mount Carmel Novena - day 4

     The Brown Scapular depicts pictures on the cloth of one side and a piece of brown cloth on the other. On one side of the cloth reads the inscription, "whosoever dies wearing this scapular shall not suffer eternal fire ". A promise our Lady gave to us when presenting Saint Simon Stock with this Holy Sacramental. The other side depicts our Blessed Mother giving St. Simon Stock the scapular, with angels in the background. The word "scapular" comes from the Latin word "scapulae" which means "shoulders". Meaning to be worn over the shoulders as a visible sign of devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. We wear it in honor of Her as a symbol of our loyalty to the Queen of Heaven. Let us now pray day 4 of the Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

     Today, as encouraged by John- Paul and Annie, from praymorenovenas.com, let us pray for all to have a deeper devotion to Mary. We ask Mary to help all people to better know Her Son, Jesus. 

     In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen 

     God, Thank You for the gift of your Mother. She gives us such a remarkable example of perfect love and faith! What a role model we are blessed to have in Her! 

     Our Lady of Mount Carmel, people sometimes struggle with their relationship with you. They believe that honoring you is like giving worship to God. Yet, your example of Love can be so powerful and relatable. Sometimes it is hard to relate to Jesus. He is so perfect and divine, that it could be intimidating to approach Him alone. Yet, you were a mother. You were a daughter. You were a simple person, whose life was suddenly turned upside down by God's plan. I can relate to that feeling. 

    Our Lady, please bring me closer to You, and thus closer to Jesus, through this Novena. Please aid the understanding of all who struggle with their relationship with You. Please comfort us in your Motherly  embrace, and please bring my intentions before your Son, especially.... (State your intentions here) 

     Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us!
