Cardinal Robert Sarah
Today, as suggested by John- Paul and Annie, from praymorenovenas.com, we remember the sick and suffering. Just like our Saint of the day, Kateri Tekakwitha, one of our great Saints who truly suffered. She suffered a lot! Our "Lily of the Mohawks" lived through the great epidemic of smallpox. Losing her family to it, she was orphaned. That alone gave her great suffering of heart. She herself, was left physically scarred and with impaired vision. Just think of living in the wild, not being able to have full sight! The Mohawk name,"Tekakwitha" means "she who bumps into things". So much humiliation, so much suffering. So many forgotten who are living with this kind of deep suffering.
Let us pray today for all those who are sick and suffering, and offer up our prayers for their relief. Just like Kateri did, let us offer up our own sufferings to console the Heart of Jesus. We start the Novena of Our Lady of Carmel, day 7.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, when you gave the Scapular to Saint Simon Stock, you promised to especially watch over all who wear it. You said, "it should be a sign of Salvation, a protection in danger, and the pledge of peace". My Lady, there are so many people who are suffering in the world. So many physically sick. So many mentally distressed. So many, who are spiritually ill. Today, I bring them all before you. Please hold them in your loving embrace. Give them peace and protection you mentioned to Saint Simon Stock. Bear them before our Loving God and ask for their healing. Intercede to end their suffering. I especially pray for all those I know who are sick or suffering. Please keep in mind, also my intentions. (State your intentions here). God, I know that all things are in your hands. Please, hear my prayers on behalf of all those who are sick and suffering. Allow me to offer up my own trials for them and their sake. Our Lady of Mount Carmel pray for us!
In the name of the Father of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Saint Kateri Tekakwitha , pray for us!
