The Perfect Government

During our 250 year celebration of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain, I have heard many complaints on the subject of the many imperfections of our Republic style of government. To be exactly correct, I am not perfect by a long shot. The people complaining about our imperfections of government are also not perfect. The founders of our nation were not perfect either. I wonder why!! Could it be that we all suffer from the same malady? That malady is being human. We are all under the same curse as being far short of the glory of God due to the sin of our first parents. We all make errors and mistakes. This is why we have erasures on one end of our pencils.

So what are we to do? As human beings we try to make the best of a situation that causes pain to others. We try to alleviate that pain in the hope that we do not worsen the situation for anyone suffering from its consequences.

Many years ago, a Divine person who is con-substantial with the Father, took on our lowly human flesh to remedy the situation of human imperfection. This being was both divine and human. He matured and began to preach the gospel or good news of the Kingdom or government of God. He also healed the sick, fed the masses of people, and raised the dead. The common Jewish people loved Him. Many times, He had to hide from his own people so that they could not make him a king. In order to fulfill the will of the Father, He was found guilty in a mock trial and sentenced to death on a cross. He shed every drop of blood in his body for us. He opened the gates of Paradise to all believers who begged mercy for their sins. He arose from the dead three days later and ascended to the Father forty days after his resurrection. He along with the Father sent the Holy Spirit to console, empower, and enlighten us.

Due to the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit, we apply the shed blood of Jesus to our deceased family members and friends when we pray for them. Those prayers speed our family and friends to quicker unity with God in heaven. By the same logic instead of complaining about of our government, let us pray to apply a tiny drop of the shed blood of Jesus on our government to purify it and correct it. Looking to the future when we see the return of Jesus in the clouds of heaven, He will establish the physical Kingdom of God on earth. Then all complaints shall cease, and we shall have a perfect government.
