OUR LADY OF MERCY
Communism has existed for nearly two centuries. It has failed in Russia, China, North Korea, and Cuba. There has been a growing number of Americans who are embracing it for all the wrong reasons. The problem with communism is that it teaches us to look up to the devil as God in the guise of the government.
At one point, communism was taught in our education system about how it murdered millions of people. Now, with the increase of political correctness in our education system, the teachers who hate America have brainwashed a generation or two of Americans into loving it.
America is going somewhere that Fulton Sheen once warned. In his words, “The means of life no longer minister to peace and order because we have perverted and forgotten the true ends of life. … Now the basic reason why our economics and politics have failed as a means to peace is that both have forgotten the end and purpose of life. We have been living as if civilization, culture and peace were by-products of economic activity, instead of the other way round, so that economics and politics are subordinated to the moral and the spiritual. … We live and act as if God had never made us.”
The good news is that we can turn it all around. As Father John Hardon reminds us, “We must humbly acknowledge our guilt before God, sincerely repent, and do penance for the errors of the past. But even this is not enough,” because as Sheen said, “unless there is a moral revival in our Western world a rebirth of family life, Communism may be the instrument for the liquidation of a bourgeois civilization that has forgotten God.”
In a previous article, I mentioned what was at stake with the 2026 midterm elections approaching. I also am growing concerned, just like the beloved son of the church, about how America is ignoring the ramifications of an ideology founded by Karl Marx. In a previous article, I laid out who Marx is and the church's viewpoint.
Marx is no saint. Rather, he is the direct opposite of what Jesus is. If one were to know the true history of Marx and his reckless ideology plaguing the world, communism would be outlawed everywhere, yet here we are.
Marx may have duped millions of people, but they don’t realize how much was reaped from the poor seeds planted by progressive policies passed in states like California, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and so on.
It is time for Catholics to wake up and attack the ideals of the flawed philosophy from a godless man. It is dangerous and killing the soul of America the more we remain silent or lack the action of averting its spread.
