The seasons of our life
Death is going to come to us all. Praying daily for a happy, peaceful, provided and Holy death should be asked for daily. We know not the hour or the day we die. Only God knows that. Surrendering our Souls at that moment prepares us to meet God, and we want it to be with our lives in order. No one, I believe wants to die unprepared. It's our final "swan song", and we will see God. He will show us how profitable our life has been or how we wasted the time He gave us while we were on Earth.
We must prepare the way for ourselves and others. Speaking up when we see our lives or someone else's, spiraling downward. He is a Good and Merciful God. He gives so many chances. So many opportunities to turn our lives around. A gift given to us in the name of free choice. Falling is inevitable, because of the sin of Adam and Eve. But we must also remember, we have been redeemed, the moment Jesus breathed His last breath to this mortal life on the Cross. He was human and also had to rely on His Father's timing for His own death. His great example of surrender at this moment, shows that everything that is or ever will be, is ultimately in God's hands.
Death can either be a scourge or reward. A life lived in Charity and Love for others is the reward. Self-seeking and skepticism in Faith is a scourge. Ultimately resulting in our placement after we have died. The desire to live with Jesus in Eternity is readily available to each and every one of us. We just have to think before we act, while there is still breath in our bodies.
Preparing the way, will show our Good and Gracious God that we are sincere, and He loves the Soul that keeps trying. So never give up, start preparing for your real home and you will be singing with the Heavens in joyful unison with all the Angels.
God loves a cheerful giver. A giver of your soul to the One whom Saint Paul referred to saying, "to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far."
