Why All Christians Must Call Her Blessed

In Luke Chapter 1, at the Annunication, the Angel Gabriel greets Mary with: “Hail, Full of Grace”.  The royal greeting of "Hail" is followed by an unique word in the original Greek which is reserved for Mary alone.  The word means Mary will was graced from her beginning (conception) and remains in the fullness of grace into the future. After the joyful royal announcement of the coming of her own Son and King, the angel said her relative, Elizabeth, had also conceived a son in her old age. For she who was called barren was now in her sixth month for nothing is impossible for God. Hearing this, Mary goes in haste to visit her.

In response to Mary's greeting, Elizabeth filled with the Holy Spirt, says: “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. (Luke 1:43-44)

At this, Mary overcome by her relative's proclaimation of her as the "Mother of God" sings her canticle giving thanksgiving to the Lord. 

The Canticle of Mary (Luke 1:46-55):

46 And Mary said:
“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
47     my spirit rejoices in God my savior.
48 For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness;
    behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.
49 The Mighty One has done great things for me,
    and holy is his name.
50 His mercy is from age to age
    to those who fear him.
51 He has shown might with his arm,
    dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.
52 He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones
    but lifted up the lowly.
53 The hungry he has filled with good things;
    the rich he has sent away empty.
54 He has helped Israel his servant,
    remembering his mercy,
55 according to his promise to our fathers,
    to Abraham and to his descendants forever.”

Scripture also acknowledges Mary as "Queen of Heaven".  Per Davidic kingship, as the Mother of the King, she is Queen.  We also see this role in the symbolic
imagery in Revelation as well as references in the Gospels. The below passages form the biblical foundation for our understanding of Mary’s queenship.

Typology of the queen mother in the Davidic kingdom (1 Kings 2:19; 2 Kings 24:12).
Symbolic imagery in Revelation 12:1-5, depicting a crowned woman giving birth to the Messiah.
Exalted references in the Gospels (Luke 1:28, 42-43; Matthew 2:1-12) that highlight her unique role in salvation history.
Transference of Mary as Mother to all of Jesus' Beloved Disciples. (John 19:25-27)

Because of the "GreatThings" God has done for Mary, all christians must call her "Blessed" and acknowedge her as the "Mother of God" and honor her as "Queen of Heaven"!
