Making Room for Jesus
(408 words, 2 minutes read time.)
** A Past Meditation **
Written in the past and newly restored.
With an image of Jesus before Pontius Pilate.
God saw my pain.
He saw me in danger.
He saw me on the verge of giving up.
And He came after me—
to rescue me.
Jesus took my death sentence.
He broke my chains.
He opened the prison door
and set me free.
As I gazed upon Him standing before Pilate,
tears filled my eyes.
There He stood,
in gentle silence,
while they accused Him.
He did not open His mouth to say,
“No, this is her sentence.”
Instead,
He remained there—
taking my sentence upon Himself.
My heart cries out,
Lord,
I am not worthy of such love.
I want to run to You
and take this suffering from You.
You are innocent.
You have been nothing but good to me.
I am the sinner.
I am the guilty one.
Yet You choose to stand in my place.
And in the silence of prayer,
His love seems to whisper:
“This must be. This is how I will bring you into My Heart. Stay with Me. Console Me. Give Me your sins, your wounds, your fears. I have come to bear them for you. By My Cross, I will set you free.”
My daughter,
I have seen your tears.
I have known your suffering.
My Heart has always been moved with compassion for you.
For love of you,
I willingly embraced the Cross.
I thirst for your heart.
I long to draw you close to Me.
You are precious to Me.
I created you for love—
to belong to Me,
to grow in holiness,
and to reflect My light to others.
Your love consoles My Heart.
Remain with Me.
Let Me lead you deeper,
day by day,
moment by moment,
ever more deeply into My Heart.
Follow Me.
Be My beloved.
A Moment to Reflect:
Place yourself for a moment beside Jesus as He stands before Pilate.
What stirs within your heart as you look upon Him?
Can you believe that He willingly embraced the Cross out of love for you?
What sins, wounds, or fears do you need to place into His hands today?
Stay with Jesus for a few moments in silence. Let yourself receive His love—and ask Him how you can console His Heart with your own.
