Do World Conditions Get You Down? Are You Feeling Vulnerable and Helpless?

    If the above title of this article describes how you are feeling regarding world conditions today, you are not alone. We ask ourselves why all of these atrocities are occurring now, how am I to react, to accept, and to cope? These questions are not out of the realm of what we are witnessing in the world news today: wars, shootings, bombings, fires, floods, tornadoes, and children starving and dying.

   Is this the “End?” It very well could be; however, only God knows exactly when this world will come to an end. Is it a warning for us to focus on living a more positive and unselfish life with a focus on saving our souls? I believe it is indeed.

   Needless to say, it is most difficult to focus on being supportive of others, living with total submission to God’s will, and at the same time witnessing panic, anxiety, and downfall of people through explosions, tornadoes, and war. Ironically, our strength can only be gotten through total submission to God’s will, We must accept that it is not God’s desire to see His people hurting, however, it is the thousands of people in this world who because they reject God, their selfishness and corruption that God must remind us that all life is “terminal”, and we are here to make it a better world, to live by God’s laws so that when our end arrives, we will be accepted into heaven for eternity!

   It is important during this time of uncertainty to ensure that we sincerely and fully become submissive to the will of God. This is how we will be graced with the tolerance, acceptance, and strength to become supportive to others who may be lost to the graces God bestows on those who love and follow Him. Prayer, continuous prayer, is how many of our Saints were endowed with the graces to renounce sin and become submissive to Christ, the Bridegroom.

   The earth is not our forever home. Think of it as a “Testing Ground” whereby we have free will to use or abuse it in any way we desire. We can chase rainbows seeking riches, pleasure, and selfish comfort, or emulate our creator as best we can through His divine grace for an eternal reward. As a child, we seek Christmas, Easter, and Birthday gifts with delight. As mature spiritual adults, we find much satisfaction in helping others, knowing how they appreciate our help, and how ultimately God is proud of us.
