How I Can’t Justify Abortion Up to Birth?

Massachusetts has recently done the unthinkable. It once banned abortion after 24 weeks. Now, it allows abortion at any week of pregnancy, even up to birth. How can it be justified? How can we allow people influenced by Satan to play God?

Sadly, it is just another sad reason that pro-lifers must double their efforts to promote the culture of life. They can elect all the candidates for office, yet they will provide lip service. It is not one size fits all.

Pro-lifers may be appalled at what the Cape State did thanks to a so-called “Catholic”, but this has been inevitable even before the Dobbs decision. It also shows that our clergy needs to do more in their homiletics to ensure that the pro-life message is preached from the ambo at every Mass. Will it be liked and disliked? Yes. Remember this: Jesus said things that got some people thinking while others wanted to bait him into contradicting his thoughts.

When Governor Maura Healey signed the bill into law, it was disgusting to find that she was surrounded by middle-aged white women. Some may have been children of those who gathered at Woodstock in 1969, where the culture of death fully bloomed. I digress. Ironically, the majority of victims of abortion are unarmed African Americans in the womb. I had to take it to the keyboard to share the news. 

It shows that men need to step up and stand against feminism that has been a cancer. The devil found a hole, and it was the lack of action of men who weren’t vocal enough to stand up for the vulnerable. Satan unleashes his wrath through the rage of feminists who reject what God created them to be.

As a father, I can’t allow something like this to happen. I lost a third of my peers to abortion. I can only wonder if that number never existed and what life could be if my peers survived. This past May, I got to witness the birth of my firstborn son as I was in labor and delivery with my wife for an enduring ten hours.

When I held my son, I looked at the precious gift God gave to me and my wife. Unfortunately, 65 million Americans weren’t so fortunate to live and breathe. Why? It is because we played God, deciding who lives and dies.

I am not ashamed of the fact that I am a pro-life male without a uterus, but I have a thing called testosterone. I also have a duty to protect and provide for my wife and son. God willing, we will expand our family, and I am confident that God will bless us with more children.

Our culture needs men to complement pro-life women who are fearless in their conviction. Fulton Sheen reminds us, “Evil may have its hour, but God will have his day”.

Pro-lifers, all is not lost. We must double our efforts to protect life from womb to tomb. Men, it is time to stop spectating and get in the game. Being pro-life is more than the national and local gathering. It is a daily commitment. Your tenacity will be needed to turn the tide of this ongoing culture war as we find ways to protect life in all its stages.

Abortion is never justified when good men become vocal.
