The Rules Don't Apply to Me
I wonder how transformed our lives could be if instead of proclaiming our pride in accomplishments, achievements and possessions, we felt thankful and blessed?
After all, everything that we are and have are gifts from God. So recognizing Him as the source of all the good in our lives would be a transformative step in softening our hearts and strengthening our spirits toward a life of true Christian Charity. Humbling ourselves to a Father and Creator who bestows on us all that is good and holy will enable to us to live in a way in which God instructs and will be pleased.
We should be boasting in the Lord, and maybe not so much in ourselves. Pride after all is a vice, and humility a virtue, and trust in the Lord is essential for entrance into the Heavenly realm and family.
I think that much peace could be found in this habit.
2 Corinthians 10:17-18;7 But, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” 18 For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
There is no goodness separate from God! We can accomplish nothing without his blessing. The purpose of all his creation is for his Glory, which will bring happiness to his Faithful. We should give him the glory, so he can shine it right back down upon us, in a much brighter hue!
CCC 53 Why was the world created? The world was created for the glory of God who wished to show forth and communicate his goodness, truth and beauty. The ultimate end of creation is that God, in Christ, might be "all in all" (1 Corinthians 15:28) for his glory and for our happiness.
So let’s give credit where credit is due! Immersing our words, deeds, accomplishments and our everything will bring more glory back to us, than we could ever imagine! Immerse everything you are in Him!
