Listen to your Mother
Never underestimate a child. Many times their words are prophetic and teach us Wisdom and Understanding, that for some reason as adults we sometimes can miss. For God Himself says, "we must become like little children to enter the Kingdom of God". He also says, "you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children, yes Father, for such was your gracious will, see that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their Angels in Heaven always see the Face of my Father, who is in Heaven".
It is declared that children are under the watchful eye of Heaven at all times. It is vital and truly important, as a parent, teacher, priest or religious, or friend, to take special care in the upbringing of such precious jewels as our children. I have found two such parents, named John and Myra Costello. They are diamonds in the crowns of their precious jewels. The radiating love they emit as a family, of future Saints, is obvious when you see them at Mass or talk to them. They have planted the seeds and the flowers are growing. The children remind me a lot of the Fatima children. Lucia, Jacinta and Francesco. All three of the Fatima children were normal, Catholic children who were brought up to love God and our Mother Mary. Just like John and Myra are doing. Here is evidence of that. Here is an essay by their oldest daughter Magdalena Costello:
What it means to be a daughter of God.
To me, being a daughter of God means that I belong to Him and that He loves me very much. I know that God is my dad and that makes me feel safe and loved. Even when I have bad days or feel sad, I can remember that God made me and cares about me all the time. Through Baptism, I became part of God's family and that makes me feel really awesome. Because of that, I know my life matters, and I want to be kind and loving to other people. Another part of being a daughter of God, is staying close to Him in my Faith in the Eucharist. I believe that Jesus is really with me and helps me be strong. In Confession, I remember that even when I do something wrong, God forgives me and gives me another chance. That helps me remember that my mistakes do not change how God loves me. Prayer also helps me feel close to God, because I can talk to Him anytime and trust that He hears me.
I also feel happy knowing that I am not alone in my Faith. Mary is special to me because She shows Love, Faith and Strength. I can look up to Her and learn from how She trusted God. I also know that the Saints are part of my Heavenly family and pray for me. All of this reminds me that being a daughter of God is very special. It helps me know who I am. It gives me Hope and helps me grow into the person God wants me to be. May God bless you. Essay written by Magdalena Costello.
So..... If you're in doubt that our children are seeing the Face of God, just reread this sweet girls essay again. Soak in the words she used to describe what Faith, Mary and the Saints have inscribed into her heart. This is the way we all must become. Like children. Whose Angels behold the Heavens and all the Glory of God.
Tomorrow, I will give you another essay. Written by her brother Michael. Both are inspiring and will give you Hope and enrich "your" Faith. Straight from the mouth of babes.
