What just one hail Mary can do

    On December 28th, 1975, Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Roger Staubach, had to make an important move in a divisional playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings. Behind, 14-10, with just seconds left and facing a 50-yard throw, Starbauch launched a pass to the end zone, straight to wide receiver Drew Pearson. Drew caught the ball and scored the winning touchdown with a win of 17-14. After the game, a devout Catholic Roger Staubach, told reporters that he closed his eyes and said a "Hail Mary" while the ball was still in the air. Thus initiating the term, a "Hail Mary" play. A play that is even remembered as early as the 1930s, on the football field. Nevertheless, it's when pretty much all Hope is gone and they are depending on a higher power from Heaven to help them. 

     Many miracles have come from the praying of the Hail Mary. Lives have been saved, lives have been changed, danger detoured, apparitions have occurred by Mary, our Mother Herself. Even winning touchdowns. Mary our Mother is everywhere. In the streets, in the mountains, in our homes, and even on the football fields. Our constant love letter of the Hail Mary is heard by a grateful and Blessed Mother, who makes haste, just as She did to Her cousin Elizabeth, to come to our aid and stay by our sides. This invocation has been with us ever since that time. When Mary, our Mother, the Mother of Jesus, went to Elizabeth, Her cousin's side. Elizabeth was stirred by the Spirit when holding St John within her womb. Recognizing the importance of Mary's presence.

     Saying the Hail Mary, even if it is just one, with someone particular in mind, whether you know them or not, is heard and is powerful. It's telling or asking our Mother Mary, to help and that to trust in Her Holy intervention and Power. She never ever fails us. Nothing is refused to Her by Her Son Jesus, from Her asking. 

     So the next time someone pops in your mind out of the clear blue sky, or you hear the roaring sound of sirens blaring past on their way to an accident, or even on the playing field of a football game, pray the sweet Hail Mary with confidence and our Mother Mary will do the rest of the work. She wants to. She loves us.
