Jesus Christ – His Mission On Earth – Part 3

In part 3 I would like to address the manifestations of the Kingdom of God while Jesus walked the earth. I have heard people mention that the reason that Jesus walked the earth was to cure the sick and raise the dead through his many miracles. The healing of the sick, the raising of the dead, and the feeding of the hungry were the manifestations of Jesus being on earth and not the actual reason for his earthly visit. We must look at the fact that in heaven there is no disease, hunger, poverty, suffering, or death. Jesus showed to all of us what the eternal bliss of heaven will be. There will just be pure peace and love for all the inhabitants of heaven along with our daily labors. I know that this is mind boggling to some of you, but, once you enter eternal life outside your body, you will not desire to return to your body.

Take a look at all the people who have experienced 'out of body' time. I assure you that they did not want to return unless they were instructed to do so. They traveled a long distance, and were not sure on how to return. They did not know the way, until Jesus reassured them and told them, “I am the Way.” The 'out of body' experience people upon returning have a deeper grasp of God and His ways. Their interior life of the soul begins to flourish and quickly grows to answer the high calling that they have received. This is how they perfect themselves. You may find them even speaking in tongues which some doctors refer to as gibberish. They then refer this patient to a speech therapist which is of no help.

His preaching on earth centered on individual giving. The parable of the Good Samaritan is a prime example of this. Notice that there was no government healthcare or welfare for anyone. The Church, His newly formed Kingdom of God on earth, was to handle these matters as were individual Church members. Of course, some people will always complain that with all the taxes they pay, this should be a government matter. They are wrong. Let's go back to the preaching of Jesus on taxes. “Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and to God that which is God's”. This means that whatever we give to our local parishes and diocese should be given back to the local community to help feed the poor, insure the uninsured, educate the unemployed and find employment for all. As Saint Paul writes, “Those who do not work, should not eat.”

In part 4 of this article, I will expand on what the Church's role should be in this ever changing world.
