Man and womanMan thinking man is their comfort, or takes the place of woman is a twisted and zombie-like State
Thank you beloved Saint. For showing us all, that it is possible to overcome our sins and become Saints. With trial and error, like most of us have to do. That we can finally get it right. Finally achieving our goals and becoming what God created us all to be in the first place. Saints. We are all created in His image, therefore being created pure, but stumbllng along the way. Just like you did, St. Augustine. We must all realize that our destiny is Heaven. But some of us take the roller coaster instead of the merry-go-round. Saint Augustine took the roller coaster. Going real high at a high speed and then coming down, real slow. The speed and thrill of the ride was encountered with the Merry-Go-Round repetition of his constant mother Monica. Each turnaround, catching him long enough for him to think. Long enough for him to see her tears. Maybe he was running from that. She didn't nag. She begged. There is a difference. Nagging has a certain cruel tone. But begging has a certain song. I call it a song, because some songs are sad. Relating a story with heart-wrenching words, that makes a person feel the hurt. Augustine , being led by the evil one, probably heard it as nagging. Because of the empty lies Satan was feeding him. But God finally broke through with His sweet voice. With His sweet song. Uncovering his eyes and ears to the sweetness of his mother's voice. Two great Saints, who one shows the profit of Patience. The other, the profit of Surrender. Realizing, that surrendering to God is not defeat. It is what our God expects from all of us as His creation. He is the Father. We are his children. Some of us, like I said, are a little more stubborn and strong-willed. Liking the fast lane. Liking the roller coaster. We just need a little more time to tame. But Greatness ensues after Pride is all used up. When the puffing of our feathers is drenched in a rain of tears. When that sick feeling of the speed of the ride, makes us want to get off and stand on solid ground. Thank goodness for our Merciful Patient God! Thank goodness!
We may go around and around on that Merry Go Round ride, but eventually, we grab the golden ring on the next try. Stretching out our hand to Heaven in Surrender.
Keep trying!
Saint Augustine, pray for us!
