As far as the eye can see

     I'm not very good with measurements. I'm really not that great with directions either. I probably would perish if I got lost in the woods. But one thing I do know, is that God's love stretches as far as my eyes can see. If I were to lay on the ground and look up to the sky, I know His love is reaching me even beyond those billowy clouds. If I were on top of a mountain, the tallest of all mountains, looking down, I know He's waiting for me there below. 

     When I say the prayer that St Patrick wrote, his "Lorica", I believe and picture God going before me, being in back of me, to the left and to the right, above me and below me in all their infinities. Yes, my God who promises to stay beside me always. In all Infinity, in all Divinity, in all true reality. A "Lorica" is a breastplate. It's armor. St Patrick gave us a powerful prayer by giving us this armor. We are secure that "as far as the eye can see" we are protected by God's Holy vision. 

      My eyes are growing weaker as I age and I appreciate and I'm grateful that I can see, even with my eyes closed, the extent and length of God's Love and protection for me. I believe we all can see even with our eyes shut, if we open the windows of our hearts. Clear vision is always there when we ask God to show us the way. It's only when we shut out the Light that we lose our way. Trusting in the all powerful, all knowing God, to lead us, even if it be blindly. He will show us His infinite trail to Heaven in our soul. Don't worry about stumbling a few times, just get back up. His outstretched hand is standing before us and we can feel it when we stretch out our hand to His. 

     The Nativity of Our Blessed Mother Mary is coming soon. She looked to God with infinite eyes. With the eyes of Her Soul. Relying on the fact that as far as Her Souls eyes could see, God would always remain with Her. Our prayer, to Trust and Love God, "as far as "our" eyes can see" and even beyond, will assure us pure vision for an immortal and lasting existence in Heaven with the One and True God who sees us and watches us as we travel this long and winding road to Him. We live forever in Heaven, seeing the beauty of it all, "as far as our eyes can see".
