To contemplate what will be is too weary when what has passed was yesterday’s concern:

Finding a solution for the present circumstance of our life is to place our heart in the hands of Christ and allow him to set our desires on what is holy as the Holy Spirit will guide our hopes of holiness to the Heart of Christ.  

We can reflect on the past and present surety of evil that exists in our world and attempt to dream of a possible way to clear the air for personal peace that isn’t within our possibility.  Do not consider the war-like manner that enters our brain on how to eradicate what a probable solution to world peace through us can be like.  It is a dream that will not become a reality.  True contemplation is a silent conversation with God when he is the speaker in our hearts.     

“The Word of God, which is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, is set forth and displays its power in a wonderful way in the writings of the New Testament “ which and on the truth of God’s Revelation.  Their central object is Jesus Christ, God’s incarnate Son: his acts, teachings, Passion and glorification, and his Church's beginnings under the Spirit’s guidance.  (CCC 124).

Here, in a nut shell idea, is the very answer to what contemplation can become.  Our thoughts that take so much time and energy to assimilate a productive plan all fall short of what the Lord wants to reveal within our heart and not our brain that is in overdrive.  Read a little of the Catechism on the reality of God and then permit him to assimilate within our thoughts periods of holiness and find those graces within our quiet minds.  

In revealing his mysterious name, YHWH (I AM He who Is,” “I AM who Am” or “I Am who I Am”), God says who he is and by what name he is to be called.  This divine name is mysterious just as God is mystery.  It is at once a name revealed and something like the refusal of a name, and hence it better expresses God as what he is - infinitely above everything that we can understand or say:  he is “hidden God,” his name is ineffable, and he is the God who makes himself close to men.  (CCC 206).

When contemplating who God is, believe he “Is who he Is.”  There can be no better manner when listening to God when our finite mind can only absorb this truth without any descriptive searching beyond him and who he is.

“Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”  They replied, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”  He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”  Simon Peter aid in reply, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”  Jesus said to him in reply, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah.  For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.”  (Mt 16: 13 - 17).  This revelation as truth is the pattern of your mind while in contemplation.  Here is where we all must place our desire for an answer from God.
