Jesus, I Feel the Need, And I Hear Your Call

       Tell Me How to Find Your Direction

From day to day, we are confronted with people who suffer emotionally, physically, and financially. We feel compassion and are aware that we need to dedicate our lives to You by appropriating a portion of our time toward helping others. However, in desiring to answer Your call, I am temporarily delayed as I do not have Your direction. Where do I begin, and how can I put my willingness into action that is both meaningful and stimulated by Your inspiration, Lord?

When I feel that You have accepted my offering to serve and fulfill Your will, how can I find Your direction? I am helpless without You. Therefore, I will spend more time in prayer, listening, and waiting for Your cue to see and to feel when the right moment and the right service of giving is presented to me. Lord, I pray for patience, wisdom, and understanding. The grace I need to answer Your call cannot be summoned up from within; it comes only through Your love and mercy.

Because I feel Your love, acceptance, and mercy, I pray now for Your grace and blessing to point me in the right direction with patience, wisdom, and the ability to complete whatever task You ask of me. I pray not to become impatient or proud, but to live humbly under Your guidance and answer Your call when the time is right.

Lord, could it be that many are called, yet few are chosen is because we are impatient, proud, and desire to use our will to choose where we should be, and how we choose to serve? Understanding how to follow Your will, Your direction, and remain patient in prayer, I promise to do so until my heart and soul are certain You have led me to where I should be, and how I can best humbly serve You. Amen.
