In a world of upheaval at a time no one knows; Christ is the answer:

As the politicians struggle and the war-combatants prepare for what might occur the Church waits for its people to come back seeking the strength in prayer to our God who only can bring peace to individual hearts and not the hands that hold weapons.

As we read the many warnings to the Israelites in the OLd Testament and see that it was not numbers that promised victory to God’s people but then faith of a few that God would bring a final outcome.  The Philistines rallied their forces for battle at Socoh in Judah.  A champion named Goliath of Gath came out from the Philistine camp;  he was six and a half feet tall.  He stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel: “Why come out in battle formation?  I am a Philistine, and you are Saul’s servants.  Choose one of your men, and have him come down to me.  Saul and all the men of Israel, when they heard this challenge of the Philistine, were dismayed and terror-stricken.  Then David spoke to Saul; “Let your majesty not lose courage.  I am at your service to go and fight this Philistine.”  With his shield-bearer marching before him, the Philistine advanced closer to David.  When he had sized David up, and seen that he was youthful, and ruddy, and handsome in appearance, he said to David, “Am I a dog that you come against me with a staff?”  David answered him: “You come against me with sword and spear and scimitar, biut I come against you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel that you have insulted.  Today the Lord shall deliver you into my hand; I will strike you down and cut off your head.  (1 Sam 17: 1, 4, 8, 11, 32, 41 - 43, 45 - 46).  Who can fight the word of God and those he sends forth to fight with the victory of Righteousness?

Summoning the priests, Joshua, son of Nun, then ordered them to take up the ark of the covenant with seven of the priests carrying ram’s horns in front of the ark of the Lord.  On the seventh day, beginning at daybreak, they marched around the city seven times  in the same manner; on that day only did they march around the city seven times.  The seventh time around , the priest blew the horns and Joshua said to the people , “Now shout, for the Lord has given you the city and everything in it.  It is under the Lord’s ban.  As the horns blew, the people began to shout.  When they heard the signal horn, they raised a tremendous shout.  The wall collapsed, and the people stormed the city in a frontal attack and took it.  (Jos 6: 6, 15 - 17, 20).  

Again we see how with God there is no weakening of his people using simple and yet power of faith over guns and bombs to bring his people to a remnant of glory.  It is through the power of God’s glory that believers shall win over evil.
