Standing In Your Light

** A Past Meditation **
Written in the past and newly restored.
Today I found myself reflecting on Our Sorrowful Mother.
From the first moment of her existence,
she was filled with grace.
She was conceived without sin
and remained faithful to God throughout her life.
She had no need to be purified from sin,
nor to overcome the disordered attachments that we so often struggle against.
Yet she willingly embraced every suffering,
every trial,
every sorrow
that the Father permitted.
Not because she needed purification,
but because she loved.
With complete trust,
she surrendered herself to the Father’s will.
As she faithfully embraced each grace and each cross,
her capacity to receive and return God’s love continued to deepen.
What touches me most
is that she accepted all of this
for love—
love for her Son
and love for the children He entrusted to her.
Standing beneath the Cross,
she united her heart completely with the Heart of Jesus.
She remained.
She loved.
She prayed.
She silently shared in His suffering,
offering Him the consolation of her faithful presence.
And because she walked so closely with Him,
she also came to understand our sufferings.
She knows what it is to watch,
to wait,
to grieve,
to hope,
and to trust.
She continues to accompany her children with a mother’s love,
interceding for us
and gently leading us to her Son.
When we unite our own crosses with Christ,
we never carry them alone.
Jesus walks with us.
Our Blessed Mother remains near.
She encourages us,
prays for us,
and lovingly points us toward the Father.
Do we recognize this?
Do we treasure such a gift?
Suffering entered the world through sin.
Yet through the Cross,
Christ transformed suffering into a path of redemption.
When we lovingly unite our trials with His,
He draws us ever more deeply into His own Heart.
He purifies us.
He teaches us to love.
And He uses even our hidden sufferings
for the salvation of souls.
What once seemed only a burden
becomes, by His grace,
an offering of love.
As I prayed,
I found myself reflecting on the tenderness of the Father’s Heart.
He does not delight in our suffering.
Rather,
He patiently accompanies us through it,
drawing us ever closer to Himself.
Like the father awaiting his beloved child,
He longs for the day
when He will welcome us Home,
where every tear will be wiped away,
every cross laid down,
and we shall share forever
in the joy of His everlasting love.
A Moment for Reflection:
What cross are you carrying today?
Can you imagine Our Blessed Mother standing beside you as faithfully as she stood beside Jesus at Calvary?
How might your suffering change if, instead of seeing it only as a burden, you offered it to Christ as an act of love?
Ask Our Sorrowful Mother to remain close to you today, to pray for you, and to lead you more deeply into the Heart of her Son.
