Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it
The first one came when holding Him, this brand new infant babe. The One we all were waiting for, now in Your arms He laid. You walked up those oh so many steps, to have Him Blessed and seen, only to hear His future told, of a persecuted King.
The next one came deep in the night, to rise and quickly flee. To take that babe and move away, all at the Angels plea
He grew and now was older, but really, still a child. Excited to be traveling with a caravan beguiled. Where in Your Heart You did not know, for 3 days You would search. For this precious gem of gold, only to find Him in a Church.
He grows and grows to manhood, till on that Sorrowful day. You follow Him to Calvary, meeting Him on that Way.
You watch as He did suffer, then die upon the Cross, another Sword to pierce you, of this painful tortured loss.
He's finally taken down, as you watch Him slow descend. Your eyes and Heart still watching, of this Son to whom you tend.
You hold Him in your Sorrowing arms, this child from whom came within your womb. He is your prized possession, now you lay Him in a tomb.
I believe our Lady suffered many more Sorrows than just the Seven we recall. Her Soul is still being pierced by all of the sins that's still transpire to this day. In Her silence, yet watchfulness, She now tends to us. Her children. Let us ask Her today to place us within Her Holy arms and rock us with the sweet song of the Angels.
Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.
