Open Letter to Chreasters
The following is from an email blast sent by Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America. She stresses the importance of rallying pro-lifers to maintain its majority on the federal level while fending off radical pro-abortion candidates.
RealClearPolitics and Polymarket project Democrats to pick up FIVE seats and seize control of the U.S. Senate in November.
The prediction market Kalshi gives Democrats an 84% chance of winning the U.S. House.
Some polling now shows Democrats with a 6.6-point lead on the generic ballot. That’s close to the 2018 wave where Democrats flipped 41 seats – their largest gain since the Watergate scandal!
And as if that wasn’t bad enough, here’s how things are looking in our key battleground states:
>>> Texas: Democrat James Talarico is polling AHEAD of pro-life Attorney General Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate race. Betting markets call this race a coin toss;
>>> Georgia: Incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff (D) leads the Senate race by 7.5 points. Sen. Ossoff co-sponsored the so-called “Women’s Health Protection Act” that would legalize abortion in all nine months in federal law;
>>> Michigan: Democrat Abdul El-Sayed is leading in the U.S. Senate race. El-Sayed has stated he would REPEAL the Hyde Amendment and that he would “work to ensure everyone can access abortion.” The Governor’s race trends even further blue;
>>> North Carolina: Former Gov. Roy Cooper (D) currently leads the U.S. Senate race by 5 points in the latest polling, but his lead is shrinking. As Governor, Cooper VETOED the Born-Alive Protection Act, which would have required doctors to care for babies who survived a botched abortion. Cooper also signed an executive order shielding abortionists who break laws in pro-life states;
>>> Ohio: Former Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) leads the Senate race by 2.6 points in his bid to return to the Senate after losing his seat in 2024. Brown has co-sponsored the Women’s Health Protection Act and the EACH Act, which would repeal the Hyde Amendment and force American taxpayers to fund abortion nationwide.
The Governor’s race is also a dead heat, and 40-year pro-abortion incumbent U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D), who voted against the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act, is currently down by 4 points to former Ohio State House Rep. Derek Merrin (R), who led the way in passing Ohio’s Heartbeat Abortion Ban that passed out of the Ohio State House; and
>>> Iowa: Cook Political Report rates the U.S. Senate race a tossup. Rep. Ashley Hinson (R) – a true pro-life champion who co-sponsored the federal Life at Conception Act and SFLAction’s Pregnant Students Rights Act – is an ally ready to sponsor our priority legislation on day one. But Democrat Josh Turek has closed the gap, and the Governor’s race is trending blue with Democrat Rob Sand, who has a 4.5-point lead right now.
I’ll be frank.
Things are not looking good for the Pro-Life Movement and if current fundraising and polling continues as it has….things could go from bad to worse.
Thankfully, my team and I have a battle plan for the final two months before November’s Midterm Elections – we just need the resources to make it happen.
That’s why I’m asking you to send in your most generous contribution possible to Students for Life Action today.
Here’s what your generosity helps fund:
? Door-to-door Canvassing: $432,050. Nothing changes a voter’s mind like a face-to-face conversation on their front porch, especially with a young person.
? Vote Pro-Life First pledges & Digital Ads: $425,700. We turn out young voters for less than $2 a pledge.
? Targeted Mail: $165,000. It may not be as flashy as a TV ad, but direct mail is still one of the most effective methods at turning out voters.
? Campus Outreach Tours, Get Out The Vote (GOTV) Events, and Overpass Rallies: $145,000. Our student leaders are hosting rallies, registering voters, and driving classmates to the polls.
? Peer-to-peer Texting: $148,400. We will ensure turnout in key races on election day.
? The Video Billboard Truck Tour: $34,000. We’re screening Unplanned on college campuses across eight battleground states this fall, right from our video billboard truck. For anyone who’s seen it, this movie is an instant mind-changer on abortion.
? The Church Parking Lot Blitz: $10,000. This one punches way above its weight. Every Sunday in September and October, Students for Life groups nationwide will be in church parking lots, putting the stakes of this election in front of churchgoers before they ever get to a voting booth. It’s cheap. It’s relentless. It works.
Total budget: $1,360,150.
That’s a big number.
And I’m not expecting it from you tonight. (Although I won’t stop you if you want to make a gift that fully funds our entire 2026 Plan for November.)
But I need you to be part of it.
Give $5,000
Give $2,500
Give $1,000
Give $500
Give $250
Give $100
Give $50
While we may not have a $114 MILLION war chest like the Abortion Lobby, we do have something they’ll never be able to match: thousands of pro-life students all across the nation who are fired up and ready for November.
Our dedicated student activists have been the key to our success in “good” and “bad” election cycles alike.
You see, we have campus groups in critical states all over the U.S., and our campus leaders are on the ground recruiting a generation of new activists.
These students will train THOUSANDS more.
And those activists will knock on doors, contact legislators, and make THE difference in November.
But that only happens if pro-life donors like you stand with us.
I’m not sure what you can afford to give.
All I’m asking is for you to give what you feel called to.
Please read the following message from Students for Life Action...
