The next great sex abuse scandal in Christianity (and how to respond)
Remaining hopeful is hard when the world seems to be crumbling around you. Don't let someone tell you any different. It's hard. It's not impossible.
One of the things Satan wants you to give up on is hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope".
if it is in God's plan then it is on Satan's agenda to destroy.
Remaining hopeful is hard when it seems like nothing is changing. When the bills are piling up, family dynamics are in dissary, our careers are not where we envision or need the to be, and perhaps our faith is not where we want it to be. We have loved ones struggling with addiction, perhaps we are struggling with addiction ourselves, or there are family members battling mental illness.
Whatever the situation, you are trying to hold onto hope but it seems like soetimes it's just a tiny thread and that threat will break at any moment. That is when you dig your nails into the rope and you plant your heels into the ground and refuse to let go or to give an inch.
Romans 12:12 urges us to "rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and be constant in prayer."
That gives us the recipe for a strong faith foundation. We are to rejoice because we have the hope of Christ. We are to rejoice because Christ died for our sins and paved the path for our salvation. We are to rejoice that He never leaves us and never stops loving us.
We are to be patient in tribulations and trials because we know it's just a season. It is just a season in life and God will bring something good out of the tribulations we face as God's children. We just have to be patient.
It's like anxiously awaiting Christmas morning, but we have to actually wait for it to come. We can't force it to come any faster than its appointed time. It's just like the tribulations in our life. We are anxiously and desperately wanting them to end. But, we can't make them end any faster than when its appointed time is to end.
We are to be constant in prayer. If we stop praying then we are automatically disconnecting ourselves from the internet of hope. Jesus is the source of our hope and if we unplug that connection then we have no source of power for hope.
Stay faithful. Stay strong.
Keep hoping - even when it seems hard or impossible.
Keep hoping- even when it seems like God is not listening.
Keep hoping - even when it seems like nothing is changing.
Keep praying...stay connected to the power source of hope.
