What Is It You Truly Hunger For?

Hunger. It makes our way into our lives every day.
We're hungry for meals. We're hungry for snacks. We're hungry for love. We're hungry for attention. We’re hungry for intimacy.
Do you ever get overwhelmed by your hunger? Do you flit from different hungers, with nothing satisfying? Do you ever wonder why you don’t feel satisfied? Why you continue to long for being filled? Do you have a bottomless pit of hunger and longing?
Our many hungers deceive us. Our true hunger is for God: to be all consumed with His burning love for us. To spend time in His embrace, rest in His presence, and love our brothers and sisters.
This Lent, we will confront our hunger on days of fast and abstinence. Let Christ’s love and grace fill us so that we are no longer hungry for what this world has to offer. May His Body and Blood be more than enough, and transform us.
