International Doula Month -- May! What's a Doula?
Infant Jesus of Prague is a well-known devotion, but I think many have forgotten it.
Let's start with the story of the statue of Infant Prague of Jesus. The history starts 16th century where a statue was passed from one young lady to another. Eventually it was donated to a Carmelite monastery. During the Thirty Years War the statue was lost. However, it was recovered around 1638. It was discovered behind an altar without any hands on the statue and it was in need of repairs.
"One day, while praying before the statue, Father Cyrillus claimed to have heard a voice say,
Have pity on me, and I will have pity on you. Give me my hands, and I will give you peace. The more you honor me, the more I will bless you." Father Cyrillus made every effort to get it repaired. Quote from this source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infant_Jesus_of_Prague
It was repaired and was shown in procession in 1651. There were many miracles attributed to the statue. The current location of this miraculous statue is at Our Lady of Victories in Prague.
Description of statue:
"The small statue is a 19-inch (48 cm) high, wooden and coated wax representation of the Infant Jesus. The surface of the wax is quite fragile. In order to protect the fragile wax surface, the bottom half below the waist is enclosed in a silver case.[22]
Since 1788, the statue's raised two fingers have worn two rings, as a thanksgiving gift by a noble Czech family for healing their daughter, along with its golden blond hair. Some earlier records indicate that the original wig was possibly white.[15]" From Wikipedia as above
Why should one have this devotion? Well, our pastor had a sermon recently about the miracles of being devoted to HIM. And so far, since our family has started praying to the Infant of Jesus, I have seen little everyday things change and maybe you might say "little miracles". I don't believe in coincidences -- so maybe it is something to think about.... a stranger coming up and saying I'll help with this need of yours! I pretty much think things like this happen because of the Infant Jesus of Prague! Pray to HIM daily and see if your life changes too.

Prayer to the Miraculous Infant Jesus of Prague
PRAYER REVELATED BY OUR LADY
To the Venerable Father F. Cyril OCD
O Infant Jesus, I have recourse to You and ask You through the intercession of Your Holy Mother to help me in my need, (mention it here) for I firmly believe that Your Divinity can help me.
I hope, in complete trust, to obtain Your holy grace. I love You with all my heart and with all the strength of my soul. I am truly sorry for all my sins, and beg You, O good Jesus, to give me strength to conquer them. I shall never offend You and I am ready to suffer rather than to cause You pain.
From now on I want to serve with complete faithfulness and for love of You, O Divine Child, I will love my neighbour as well as myself. Omnipotent Child, Lord Jesus, again I implore You, help me in this need of mine (mention it).
Grant me the grace of possessing You eternally, with Mary and Joseph and of adoring You with the holy angels in Your heavenly court. Amen
