Have You Ever Chased a Sunset All Over the World
In all the stories told in the Bible, I do not recount one where there were instant arrivals at the Promised Lands. You know, the places where the people of faith went from point A to point B in just a matter of days. One exception maybe—the Resurrection of Christ, but even that event was preceded by 33 years of Jesus walking that human life trusting in the Father’s plan.
In all the stories too, of those we love here on earth---we rarely find that “I won the Lottery” moment when all our problems, we think, are gone and we arrived that the Promised Land. But, we do see that with the passing of time—we do arrive at different points of fulfillment and achieving that we hoped, prayed and worked for.
In the stories then and the stories now—people of faith learn that we walk by faith and not by sight and we trust in the Father’s Love to bring us to the fulfillment of His plans for each one. We walk, we pray and we watch for the good things to come—for they will. God promised—and He doesn’t lie!
Today as I was enjoying the afternoon, and went outside to watch the clouds---a mockingbird landed on the For Sale sign in the yard. I sat on the porch rail and started to talk to my Dad—who I hope ‘art’ in Heaven. I ask Dad, “What do you think about us selling the house? Yes, you stayed on a 3 acre home site until your death. Yes, you could not care for the home or the land either and sat many days, watching, waiting, praying and playing those cards worn out by your hands.”
“ I am listening God—I am listening.” I started to see the message that bird was bringing via God’s Ways. As I talked out loud that bird stayed still and watched the ground—and as I came off the porch singing a new song, he went down to the ground and got that worm—he was so patiently waiting to find. (I noticed too that birds will cock their heads as to LISTEN for those worms. So too, must we listen as we wait.)
The words of the song—“Wait and see, and if you do, good things will come to you—wait and see.”
Continuing to walk, I scanned the clouds and they too spoke a message of ‘ever changing life, unexpected events coming, and there will be dark clouds on the horizon---but wait and see what God has planned for you.’
Abraham, Moses, Noah, Esther, Ruth, Daniel, Joseph, (and I could go on and on) the people of the Old Testament) waited, walked, trusted and saw the fulfillment of God’s plans and promises. The same with the models we have been given in the New Testament. Especially Mary, she said her yes, trusted, waited and saw in her arms—the Greatest Promise of all—fulfilled as spoken by the Angel Gabriel’s word to her.
What about any of you? Are you facing uncertainty and decisions that must be made? Any of you wondering, “Is that You God calling me to a new place in my life?” Then please pray, seek His Word, and wait for His Plans to be revealed and fulfilled in your life. Trust and believe as never before!
The Message was given to my husband and I last month before the 13th of May---to “be patient, pray and obey and see what comes in the next six months before the final anniversary of Mary’s appearances at Fatima. Wait and see what God has planned for your life and the lives of all in this world.” (I wondered will we see another great miracle similar to what occurred that day involving the sun. Only God knows.)
More and more, I know without a doubt—“In God I can trust---and He, and He alone, is my rock and my salvation!! Wait and see what God can do –for me—for you!! WAIT and see-- and all good things WILL come to you!
