Finding Grace through Weakness
We are living in a time where lack of faith in God, mistrust in government, and disillusionment with each other has become a way of life for too many people, whose belief in something positive has blossomed into doubt and produced far too much anxiety and depression. Could this be a sign of a deep thrombosis, clogging the minds of clear-thinking people who once were the back-bone of our nation and society, but now have allowed a fearful darkness to overtake them?
Can we look at some who have found too much acceptance of New-age Philosophy, promising life in a hedonistic life-style, and become self-indulgent in their outward thinking, not just in pleasure, but in all approaches to life in general. Where is God in this new approach to life that supersedes basic human and Godly principles that most of us grew up with? Let me clarify this by stating those of us who are of the older generation.
Walk into any church, be it Catholic, Protestant, or Jewish and notice the diminishment of attendance. Watch the results of political support for candidates with adherence to moral principles and see the lack of support for strong life-supported values, or speak with randomly selected persons and glean the attitudes of concern regarding the anarchy and tyranny thinking that exists on our streets today. These, and many other concerns should be at the heart of every moral-guided person, holding the future of the world we are handing over to our children, as the last hurdle to protect the words found in the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, and as Christians the words of the Creeds (Apostles and Nicene), and support of the Jewish State of Israel.
This is where our nation began, what many thousands of military personnel fought and died for, and where so many saints of the Church lived following Jesus Christ and the strong belief in the sacred tradition of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. Without these sound facets of human life and continued support of all that is good, holy, sacred, and seeking the presence of a Loving God, we as a human race are doomed to a world that one cannot even visualize.
Think back not too many centuries ago, when God sent Moses to free the Hebrew nation from the grasp of Egypt. If only they would have followed closely in belief and thankfulness to God’s promises, their trek in the desert might have been shortened by hundreds of years. Thankfully, they did, through the prophets, Judges, and many others before Christ reach their promised land. However, today too many are not following the path Jesus set out before us, and in spite of so many leaders in our Church, we are on the road to destruction caused by a lack of faith and trust in God. Where faith and trust in God abound, His hand is upon us. Without that faith and trust, we are keeping His hands apart from us and the future of our safety because of Him.
Let us get back to the time when the word fear was complete respect for God and a desire to live our lives as He wanted us to. With complete trust in the Holy Trinity, fear will be no more, and peace will become the by-word of humanity. At least let’s attempt to adopt that thought, and live for God.
