'A New Heaven and a New Earth' - Are We in End Times?
By the Grace given from God: Step 2 for Inner Healing
With Wisdom, comes understanding, with understanding comes forgiveness and with forgiveness comes Peace beyond all measure, overflowing pouring out. First comes the Light that guides us back to those deep roots of the past that still grow in the present.
Did you know that God is the Great I Am? Of course you do! But do you know what that signifies? I AM, I am here, I am with you---now-- the present. He is not the great I Was—or the Great I Will Be—He is the great I Am. Now, I assure you, He was present with us back in the past and this may be the biggest reason why we are still angry about the past.
“Why, if You were such a great God of Love and Power and Might---why, did You allow to happen all those things that happened to me?!!? Why, God, why!?”
To answer that I was led to Mark Chapter 15, which details the whole story of the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ. I was led there when I was praying about the next step of inner healing. In reading this 15th Chapter of Mark---my first thought was Death and Dying. Death and dying to self is a necessary step of inner healing, so that we may live with Christ. He meant it when He said we must take up our Cross in order to follow Him.
Dying to self--- just how do we die to self. Perhaps we should turn this to Ceasing to be ME.
Ceasing the need to be ‘right.’
Ceasing the need to be heard.
Ceasing the need to be understood.
Ceasing the need to be vindicated
Ceasing the need to be ‘somebody.’
Ceasing the need to be noticed.
Ceasing the need to be loved, wanted and admired.
Ceasing the need to be appreciated.
Ceasing the need to be beautiful, picture perfect.
Ceasing the need to have that wonderful, fantastic life that all desire.
Ceasing the need to be sought after---“liked.”
There are so many other ‘needs’ that the human Me wants in their life thinking that if I have these---I WILL BE HAPPY!!
Many of us who have lived years struggling, searching, striving to do whatever is necessary to have these needs fulfilled in our life---we can tell you ---we still have not found that joy we are looking for. We are still spinning our wheels striving to find the ‘missing pieces’ that leave us feeling so broken and cracked up in our spirit.
Why? Because it is not What we are missing but WHO we are missing in all the areas of our lives and behavior.
The best example I can give to you of someone who has died to self and because of her dying was able to be totally fulfilled in her ‘being’---is Mary. Mary who said ‘be it done unto me as You will. Instantly the Presence of Peace and Joy entered in and enabled her by grace to continue to live that life of total surrender to the Will of the Father. She died to self and was Blessed above all woman. Look to Mary and Jesus both for the best example of dying to self.
So, Step 2 to entering into the journey of inner healing and being made ‘’wholly—holy—whole” is to be willing to allow God to show you all the many ways you must die to ‘self—selfish’ wants and needs.
Be willing to let the Light enter into all the darkest places where what is lost can be found and be healed by His mercy and grace. You literally have to GIVE God permission to open up those doors you have locked so tight. They are locked from the inside and He can only have access to your past when you do the unlocking---giving Him permission to come in.
