Wow, What a Whisper!!!

This reading tells us that God was not in the loud wind, or the earthquake, or the fire—but spoke to Elijah in a quiet whisper.

Then the LORD said to him,
"Go outside and stand on the mountain before the LORD;
the LORD will be passing by."
A strong and heavy wind was rending the mountains
and crushing rocks before the LORD—
but the LORD was not in the wind.
After the wind there was an earthquake—
but the LORD was not in the earthquake.
After the earthquake there was fire—
but the LORD was not in the fire.
After the fire there was a tiny whispering sound.
When he heard this,
Elijah hid his face in his cloak

A quiet whisper. But look at the first words spoken. “Go outside and on the mountain or our ROCK of our SALVATION—OUR BELIEF IN CHRIST!. Draw away from ‘worldly distractions and hear His Whisper----and in the silence, in the songs of the birds, in the wiggle-waggle of a dogs tail or the pure joyful giggle of a baby radiating through the biggest smile ever. Laughter coming from any person that is the sincere laughter that breaks out when someone hears what is really “funny.” God’s voice can be heard in the most unique and unexpected places or people everywhere if we are open with ears to hear, eyes to see. Go out and play "I spy God" with God.

Today, as I started to sit before the Lord, I read from ‘When God Speaks to the Heart” by Father Gaston Courtois

“Ask Me often for good humor, warmth, and why not, frank smiling merriment. Look at Me looking at you and smile brightly at Me. As for your prayer, you will spend the hour looking at Me without saying anything and smiling at Me. You will not be wasting your time. I want you to be joyful in my service, joyful when you receive, joyful even when you suffer. Be joyful because of Me. Be joyful to please Me, and be joyful through communion in My Joy!”

HEARD THAT—Lord. So, I quickly went to pull up Every Praise to our God, a video by Hezikia Walker, and for five minutes ‘moved and grooved it’—got my praise and dance on and forgot that my body was closing in on 70. I forgot all those sick relatives who were crowding my mind or the people of the world were spewing hateful words. I started to do as God ask, and started to smile all the day through. God help me for You know that to do this for even an hour will not last every second through. But, my Jesus I can TRUST IN YOU, and keep on, keep on by Your merciful grace.
