Even If You Are Day Old Bread!

“Now what is she talking about now?”

For some time now I noticed that my pastor chooses to give me a regular round Host at Communion, even if the broken pieces of the Larger Host consecrated at Mass are still on the Paten. Today, a Saturday Mass, with only four people attending ---again the newly consecrated pieces left on the Paten and a round host given to me. As I walked back to my pew, talking to Jesus before placing the Host on my tongue—I said these words. “Thank you Jesus for coming to me, even if You are day old Bread.” Immediately, I am laughing silently---knowing God was in those thoughts. He has a great sense of humor and this was what triggered “Write an article on Eucharistic miracles.”

There are many Catholics today who receive, believe; but may not really act like they believe they are in the TRUE Presence of GOD!!! There are many priests too, who may have taken for granted just what Miracle they are privileged and anointed witness every day at Mass, they may fail to convey by their actions---“HERE HE IS!” Going through the motions of Mass and Consecration, they may fail to radiate the SACREDNESS of just WHO they are holding up when they say—“This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world! Happy are those who are called to his supper.”

Now, if we really believe this proclamation---should there not be at least a small smile on the face of the Priest or the faces of the faithful returning from Communion? Are we becoming guilty of going through the motions of attending Mass and receiving the BODY and BLOOD OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST? Is this the reason why your children leave the church as they grow into adults? Is this the reason why Catholic Churches are closing due to few parishioners? Is this the reason why we are not going forth to proclaim by our actions---that Jesus is resurrected and alive!!! Think about it.

Some of the faithful and even a rare number of the priests too are questioning the true existence of the Presence of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ in the Eucharistic Host. And so today---as I received ‘DAY OLD BREAD’----I am reminded of the miracles where the Host is perfectly preserved for over 300 years. I am reminded that Jesus Presence, like His Mercy is ALWAYS the same as it was when He walked this earth—ALWAYS with us—the I Am that I AM!!!.

Did you know that a microscopic (unseen) drop of blood contains in it the perfect DNA that identifies each person for who they are? No one else can say that is my blood except you. Now our blood, our flesh will start to deteriorate from the moment it becomes separated from our body. His does not as proven by the Eucharistic Miracles that you can go and research. Scientific research has been done on the Hosts in question, and the Church has carefully done Its job to be sure to say it is truly a Eucharistic Miracle. So click on the links and see for yourself.

The sole primary reason why the Passover Meal occurred the night before He died was to permanently leave His Presence with us until He comes again to reign on earth. When He spoke those words---“This is My Body, this is My Blood---do this in remembrance of Me,” Jesus was giving the Apostles and the Priests of today—the gift of bringing His True Presence into our world; and for those who believe---into their very being. His DNA transfusion so to speak ---will change our human being into the image of His personality---if we choose to believe, receive, and imitate His Life. So, my beloved, Day Old Bread it may be ---the Eucharistic Host is just as awesome and powerful as the Host consecrated at Mass of the day. Smile and be thankful---Jesus so loved you, He is THERE!
