Walking With Jake
03/10/13— Psalm—(remember Today if you Hear His Voice.)
Responsorial Psalm Ps 34:2-3, 4-5, 6-7
While waiting for Mass to begin, a church bulletin lay in the bench in front of me and the lines from Psalm 34 stared upwards at my eyes.
I sought the LORD, and He answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
Look to Him that you may be radiant with joy,
and your faces may not blush with shame
When the poor one called out, the LORD heard,
and from all his distress He saved him
It was a sweet kiss from God blown to me, as today was a humbling cleansing one for me. Jesus understood so completely my heart pondering ALL the WORDS/helpful ADVICE spoken to me in love about the need to BE MORE CAREFUL what I say and how I say it so that people do not hear the wrong things. They could get hurt or worse yet turn away from God!! “What, Lord, my words could turn them from You?”
As you know, I am a naive fool for the Lord who assumes that everybody else is too! Don’t we all love to speak so fondly of Jesus? I also assume that all know how God speaks to us and therefore understand when I say God said this or that. I think they all know He speaks to our hearts, NOT OUR EARS, or in a audible way. His is an inner voice that you KNOW what you are hearing is from God.
Back to the message I really saw that spoke even stronger the message behind the line, Look to Him that you may be radiant with joy, and your faces may not blush with shame.
Jesus had already been speaking to my heart that when I stay focused on Him, see with His eyes and love, keep my mind out of the worldy concerns, --then I will be happy and dwelling in His Peace. This line carried the tread of wisdom further as He had me dwell on the word RADIANT. Radiant----that which radiates the light of God’s love. If I stay focused on Him, then my face shows it, radiating love, wisdom, understanding, compassion and His goodness. I can leave all else, people, and concerns in His Hands and trust that in His time, His plans-- HE WILL FIX ALL that I think need to be fixed! Neither do I have to go share and teach all wisdom sent thinking everyone needs to hear what I am hearing. But, didn’t He say to spread the Good News, to go forth and do this? Our spiritual walk can get confusing at times.
What shall we do with me? Read together that Psalm again above, especially the underlined lines. “I will Bless the Lord at all times, His praise will ever be in my mouth,” and coming out of it to!! Ya’ ll be patient with this fool, someday you might be glad to say “you are on my list” of very special people. God loves you and so do I. Elizabeth Johanna
R. (9a) Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
I will bless the LORD at all times;
his praise shall be ever in my mouth.
Let my soul glory in the LORD;
the lowly will hear me and be glad.
