Stephen's Prayer
My faith is like a teardrop
In a sea of unbelief.
What little hope I once possessed
Was stolen by the Thief.
I fear my spirit’s flagging;
My strength to fight is gone.
No longer can I see my way
Or know what’s right or wrong.
Sweet charity and temperance,
Have both gone on their way;
Dear wisdom, understanding.
For these, I only pray.
I call on You, dear Father.
I ask for some relief.
Please change this gnawing doubt in me
Into a strong belief.
