Our Lady of Sorrows Devotion
I have been reading a book lately titled "The Way of Trust and Love" about St. Therese by Father Jacques Phillippe a French priest (I have met him once). In this book this priest has some good points I would like to share with our readers:
In the chapter titled "Trusting more and more"....
"As a father pities his children...so the Lord pities us." (quote from St. Therese)
The author in this chapter also talks about being Faithful to prayer. It is like digging a well he says; sometimes we are muddy at the beginning, but we find the clear water at the source which represents finding Jesus and being faithful to him. Also pg. 83 talks about digging the well.
So, as Catholic mothers; we should take the time to pray and keep silence with God each day. I usually try in the mornings to do this when I wake up. So, if you are a mom 'reading' this then you should also try to take time each day to be silent and pray to God. If we give our day to God first, then everything will fall into place better. Sometimes I have neglected this; so this passage and chapter seems to pertain to my life now. So, if you can find the time 'other mothers" even if it is brief; God will reward you for those brief moments in time that we put our thoughts towards him. I sometimes get distracted easily, but I know it is just the evil one trying for me to give up on prayer and we should never do that. We should always keep trying. My spiritual director says we should just persevere in prayer. So, that's what I will continue to do.
I also see that God is even a bit testing me right now in this perserverance as my beloved pastor and spiritual director is leaving us this summer; so I know that just continuing to pray will bring peace; I am sad at his leaving; but we should not get too attached. I guess this is why I need to "Trust even MORE" right now. I feel like St. Therese "I will choose you Mary to be my Mother and spiritual guide" for now! I know that God will send me the right person for this....
St. Therese likes to send roses to those that pray to her...so let's pray a novena for any intentions that you may have as well.
I am putting a link to a St. Therese novena that I am doing right now. May St. Therese send you a rose for your novena intention. Amen.
Remember Jesus hears all our prayers even though He may not answer them the way we wish.
