What Are the Five Wounds Devotion of Jesus?
Right now, I am taking a class through Avila institute of Studies about St. Elizabeth of Trinity. I took a previous course about St. Therese. Their lives were very similiar and in fact their "tineline" of history or "life" was around the same time frames. They also both were Carmelite nuns. St. Elizabeth stayed in the world a bit longer in order to care for her mother. She is more like St. Therese Little Flower's sister Celine in this matter, as Celine took care of their father Louis Martin.
I love the idea of comparing these two saints. St. Therese had her "Little Way" to heaven by trying to do small things with love. St. Elizabeth's spirituality is similiar -- she immersed herself in abandonment to God's will in her life waiting to enter Carmel was a trial for her; but she grew in her spirituality while she waited.
Anyway, these two saints should be an inspiriation to us. We should try to read their life stories and imitate them more.
Books to read about these saints include:
Story of a Soul: The Autobiography of St. Therese of Lisieux -- John Clarke version is recommended.
The Complete Works of Elizabeth of the Trinity, vol. 1
He Is My Heaven: The Life of Elizabeth of the Trinity
Complete Spiritual Doctrine of St. Therese of Lisieux
