Love Is A Many-Splendored Thing
Besides joy in our Savior, a second reason for joy: we look forward to the fulllness of salvation – “an inheritance... kept in heaven for you... until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice" (1 Pt 1:4-6). Anticipatory joy might be compared to the hopes of a child on Christmas Eve. Unlike our fleeting earthly joys, however, the joy that looks ahead to heaven is based on "a hope that does not disappoint us" (Rom 5:5).
